The Health Unit Coordinator provides support in patient care areas to visitors, patients, and staff in a professional and caring manner.
Education
Knowledge of patient care standards and general office practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, and courses in computer applications and medical terminology.
Graduation from an accredited program for Health Unit Coordinators, or training/education to meet job requirements beneficial.
Experience
Two years experience as a Health Unit Coordinator beneficial.
Other
Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
