Position
Summary:
The IT Specialist will support departments by installing, configuring, and maintaining databases, servers, software, and hardware.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide technical assistance and training to company employees.
Provide technical support and assistance to resolve problems with the computer network and systems.
Position
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and support network and data communication, server, and operating system hardware and software to ensure optimal network performance and security.
Provide and offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems.
Prepare PCs for delivery and installation at user work centers.
Travel may be necessary to set up workstations at job sites.
Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems.
Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of systems operations.
Work with remote users to provide support with various remote-control software.
Support, configure, and maintain corporate networks and in-house servers.
Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords and provide orientation to new users.
Train staff on potential uses of existing technology, training, and support upon request.
Work closely with Senior IT Specialist to diagnose and troubleshoot network outages and assist with reboot process.
Administers support for AV, teleconferencing, and conference room technologies.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required with a minimum of two years of Information Technology experience preferred.
Proficient in supporting Windows Operating Systems and Windows Server Operating Systems.
Experience supporting Office 365 & Microsoft Office Suites, Adobe, Mobile Devices, and other standard business application support.
Knowledge of Information Technology concepts and procedures and computer hardware and peripherals.
Exercise good business judgment in making daily operating decisions with short-term and long-term interests of the Company in mind.
Hands-on experience in networking, routing, switching firewalls, Internet VPNs remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
Knowledge of best practices around management control and monitoring of server infrastructure.
Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
Working knowledge and experience with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business information.
Working Conditions:
Primarily an office environment with occasional project site visits.
In a typical 8-hour workday, employee will usually; sit at least seven hours, stand at least half hour and walk at least half hour.
Employee's job requires occasionally to; bend/stoop, squat/crawl, climb 8 ft.
, reach above shoulder, crouch/kneel, balance, push/pull, lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
Employee job requires frequently using hands for repetitive action such as simple grasping and fine manipulating.
Work hours are generally during normal business hours.
