Volm location in Idaho Falls, ID; Antigo, WI; or Wausau, WI (if located in Wausau, must work in Antigo 2-3 days per week).
Job Summary The Manufacturing Financial Analyst's primary duties is to gather financial data such as inventory purchases, labor cost, etc.
then analyze it to uncover inefficiencies.
They will also estimate production costs and track the changes in regular costs due to new products and new processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Essential Duties Preparation of annual budgets, monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts for plant operations and capacity analysis Analyze the manufacturing operations including interpreting and communicating cost and expense variances to management Analyze variable costs and make appropriate budget adjustments.
Assist in the maintenance of cost data and preparation of reports Ascertain plant assets are properly accounted for and safeguarded from loss including participating in annual physical inventory and fixed asset inventory Prepare manufacturing variance analysis standard and ad hoc reports to determine profitability Prepare departmental expense analysis report for plant management review Research and investigate variances as needed Prepare quarterly and annual supplemental reporting Responsible for month end accounting close, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule and reporting requirements Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure amounts are properly recorded in the financial statements Prepare current month forecast estimates as well as monthly preparation of remaining year forecast estimates Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities Must have a thorough understanding of Accounting Theory and must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures Must have sound judgment - Able to make company/financial decisions based on experience and expertise Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills is required Must be extremely focused and have a strong attention to detail Must have the ability to self-motivate, multi-task and prioritize project timelines Ability to communicate in both the written and spoken language of English to a level that will allow the safe and effective performance of the job.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or similarly related field Experience with Syteline &/or Microsoft D365 F&O/SCM, preferred 3 years of experience in related industry/role, preferred.
Physical Requirements Constant talking, hearing, sitting, and repetitive motions Frequent walking and standing Occasionally carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, and grasping Requires eye and hand coordination Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 60 degrees to 90
depending on the season Mix of office and manufacturing environment.
Travel Requirements This position may require up to 10% travel between location and vendor sites by use of company or personal motor vehicle Occasional travel to other out-of-state Volm and vendor facilities, may, on rare occasion be requested Must maintain a valid driver's license, be a minimum of 21 years of age, and ability to hold a minimum personal auto liability insurance limit of $300,000 per accident and $100,000 personal property.
