36 an hour Position Description Be a part of the Human Resources Team, and provide high-level administrative support and Human Resources (HR) processes serving internal and external customers and the HR Management team.
The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruitment and hiring, benefits and leave, using handbooks, policies and practices to respond to employee questions, and payroll processing.

36 per hour, based on qualifications Duties & Responsibilities Provides administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation of HR department processes in collaboration with other HR Team members.
Using the College applicant tracking system to recruit, make offers, and facilitate the hiring and onboarding of qualified job applicants for open positions; under the direction of the HR Managers, collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conducts background and reference checks and employment eligibility verifications.
Responds to routine inquiries including but not limited to benefits, compensation, leave, talent management, policies and procedures and safety.
Draft responses as needed.
Applying critical thinking skills, handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Managers.
Review and revise department procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Maintains HR department and employee files and records; maintains HRIS.
Conducts research, maintains confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Works with team members to ensure sufficient office coverage during all hours of operation.
Process Payroll including but not limited to timesheets, adjustments, balance period-end reports, reconcile, garnishments, submit payment of state and federal taxes and new hire reporting to each agency, create journal entries for finance, reconcile and pay insurance bills.
Assist with the annual audit process, record payroll expenses, reconciliation of payroll accounts, develop accruals for the year-end audit, and maintain leave balances.
Compile reports, statements, summaries, spreadsheets and queries related to pay and taxes; review and confirm with ADP and federal taxes and new hire reporting to each agency.
Participate in professional development activities, including workshops and conferences.

Qualifications Education and
Experience:
Associate's degree in a related field (Business, Human Resources, Management, etc.
,).
One or two years of related experience (payroll, human resources assistant, human resources generalist, office clerk, office or administrative assistant, inventory, accounting clerk, etc.
) in a professional business setting.
SHRM-CP a plus.
Skills and Ability:
Proven experience applying college-level math competencies with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experienced and proficient in computer technologies, including software applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and other applications.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks with the proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to professionally communicate, verbal and written, in a fast-paced office setting with a customer focus in dealing with sensitive situations in a confidential nature.
Demonstrated experience as a member of a team in a front office position that requires excellent customer service and team experience, strong work ethic and a positive attitude with the ability to exercise initiative and make recommendations within the scope of authority.
Experience with effective multi-tasking demonstrated through solid time management skills and a high level of productivity.
Experience/working knowledge of information systems Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) including Workday, ADP, ImageNow/Preceptive Content (document imaging), applicant tracking, or similar systems, preferred.
